On the evening of June 13th, 2018, just minutes after many of the stores at the Arena Hub Shopping Plaza had closed for the evening, a freak storm honed in on Wilkes-Barre PA. An EF-2 Tornado touched down and wreaked havoc to area businesses in a matter of minutes. The Tornado brought winds to bear in excess of 130MPH and caused over $18 million dollars in damage. Luckily most of the businesses near the Wyoming Valley Mall had just closed for the evening. Only 6 minor injuries were reported. The next morning Access Aerial dispatched a drone to assess the damage and captured images of the destruction used by both local and national news outlets.
